Today we announce the next wave of acts booked for Hidden Door 2025, and reveal the day by day timings to help audiences plan their visit.
We’ve got 7 hours of non-stop entertainment lined up every night of the festival, with electrifying live music and immersive performances scattered throughout the huge Paper Factory.
For opening night on Wednesday 11th, Esther Swift explores ritual, connection, isolation, and the natural world in her performance with pedal harp and voice.
On Thursday 12th, Leith-based Day Sleeper hew pop gems from slabs of sonic abrasion, offering everything from gothic electronic sprawl of Alabaster to confessional, angular folk rock.
Also on Thursday, Accident Machine bring a unique blend of live percussion, dubbed out vocals and acid house sensibilities, a bass heavy workout from old house legend George T and in-demand DJ and percussionist Mairi B Pots.
On Friday 13th we welcome Voka Gentle, a trio of songwriters, producers and multi-instrumentalists tearing up the rulebook with their unique blend of earthy psychedelia. Recent collaborators include the Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne and cult folk chanteuse BELLS
On the same night we also present BBC Radio Scotland’s “Singer/Songwriter of the Year” Mike McKenzie – his laid back, inclusive shows have proved a smash with audiences around the UK and beyond with his wholesome indie-pop vibes.
Zulu musician Toya Delazy has been smashing down musical and cultural boundaries with aplomb. Catch her on Saturday 14th for everything from laid-back grooves to hefty pounding and complex polyrhythms, – her beats and rhymes are multilingual, multicultural and multidimensional.
We can also confirm that our Club Space will be taken over by two legendary programmers – with Paradise Palms Records on the Friday night and Samedia Shebeen on the Saturday, keeping the party going until 1am.
We’ve got more surprises to come, including our Emerging Bands Showcase – a selection of some of the most exciting new acts flowing from our Music open call, where over 200 emerging acts applied to play the festival.
