Hidden Door needs you! Whether you’re curious about getting involved or want to help shape our festival behind the scenes, there’s a volunteer role for you in 2026.
Hidden Door is a volunteer-led, multi-arts festival that transforms unusual urban spaces into platforms for new and emerging artists.
We have two ways for you to get involved – either as part of the year-round team, or as a member of our new Hidden Door Community.

Hidden Door has been taking over abandoned spaces in Edinburgh to put on unique and award-winning multi-arts festivals for over a decade. In June 2026 we’re going back to the Paper Factory for One Last Shift and are looking for volunteers to help!
If you’re interested and want to hear more, come along to Leith Arches on Wednesday April 15th, 6:30-8:30pm. There’ll be a short presentation around 7pm followed by a chance to chat to current and past volunteers over a drink and sign-up for anything that interests you.

Planning is already underway for our next festival taking place 3rd-7th June 2026. We’re now inviting volunteers to join our year-round organising team, helping to plan, organise and deliver the event.
You’ll take ownership of a specific area and work collaboratively with the wider team of around 50 volunteers. We welcome people from all backgrounds and experience levels. You don’t need to have worked on a festival before – enthusiasm, reliability, curiosity and a willingness to learn are what matter most.

These roles are a great opportunity to gain experience in arts management, festivals, community engagement, accessibility, fundraising and more – all while being part of a supportive, creative volunteer community.
We’re also launching a brand new Hidden Door Community for people who want to stay connected and involved with Hidden Door but without too much time commitment.
