“I get absorbed in ecology, plant species survival, evolution and conservation of unusual and threatened habitats in Scotland; peatlands, W Atlantic Temperate Rainforest, habitats around the areas I grew up, and have been sketching plant life from my teens. Sketching the natural world deepens my emotional connection, strengthens my memory of it and provides one of the sources for paintings. “
