Stuart Brown is an experimental drummer, composer, producer and audiovisual artist, known for creating live multimedia drum performances as MNDMTH. As a drummer he has performed globally, played on over 50 commercial recordings, and currently records and tours with various artists, including Peatbog Faeries, Propellor Ensemble, Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra, Blue Rose Code, Rylan Gleave, Brian Molley Quartet, Trio Magico and Niki King. He has a particular interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and has created music for dance, theatre, visual art, multimedia performance, independent film scores and performed on several Netflix feature film soundtracks. His two critically acclaimed albums of cartoon music, Twisted Toons Vol. 1 & 2, featured as Top 10 Jazz Albums in The Times and Mojo Magazine.

For Hidden Door’s 2025 Festival Brown presents Rhythms and Rituals of Machines, a site-specific video installation and live performance piece. Conceived as a meditation on the rituals and rhythms of machines and workers that once occupied the former Paper Factory, it reimagines their sounds, shapes, forms, and movements in an immersive audiovisual percussion piece. The piece will be on show as a standalone video installation throughout the festival, enhanced by two live multimedia performances combining reactive visuals with improvised electro-acoustic drumming, electronics and manipulated field recordings.
