Visual Art

A large CRT display rests on a freestanding plinth, the live feed from a nearby camera streamed on its screen. Yet curiously, the sculpture itself has vanished: the machine erasing itself from view.

“I’m an artist and critical technologist based in Glasgow. My practice articulates ways that technology is affecting our lives, introducing critiques of these techno-capitalist systems and their supporting structures. My works are experimental yet approachable, challenging the viewer while inviting engagement, and operate across installation, film, and performance. I hope to make revelatory work which questions the orthodoxy of tech, encouraging disenfranchised audiences to wrestle for agency: not by simplifying technology, nor by rejecting it, but by peeling back the layers to reveal the machinery.

“After working in creative industries for several years, I completed an MA at the RCA in 2024. Returning to Glasgow I shifted focus to an artistic practice examining our interaction with technology as it mediates our lives, intervening in how we communicate, relate, and learn. I explore what paths might be taken, and how our relationship to tech could change. Currently I’m an artist-in-residence at Heriot-Watt University, collaborating with researchers to create meaningful interactive public artworks critiquing the effects of AI and algorithmic manipulation on young people in Scotland.”
