We are Hidden Door – Edinburgh’s volunteer-led multi-arts festival. We’re gearing up for our most ambitious challenge yet, and we need YOU to make it happen!

What we’re all about

Hidden Door brings disused and forgotten spaces to life, creating immersive events that combine visual art, music, theatre, spoken word, and dance. Entirely volunteer-led, we provide a platform for Edinburgh’s creative community to thrive.

Planning is already underway for our next festival at our biggest site yet in June 2025, and it’s going to be extraordinary. With a larger venue and even more exciting opportunities to showcase new and emerging artists, we’re looking for new team members to join our year-round organising team to help us take this next step.

What we’re looking for

We welcome people from all backgrounds and skill levels. Whether you’re a seasoned organiser looking for a unique opportunity to flex your existing skills, or you’re eager to learn more, as long as you’re passionate, committed, and ready for a challenge, we’d love to have you on board!

General Volunteers

If you’re not looking for a year-round commitment but still want to be part of the magic, join our vibrant Hidden Door Volunteer Community! You’ll have the opportunity to get involved during the festival itself or in the lead-up to specific events, helping bring the Hidden Door vision to life.

Year-Round Organising Team Members

We’re seeking dedicated individuals to take on specific roles within our year-round organising team. This is a more involved commitment, ideal for those ready to contribute their skills and time to the planning and delivery of the 2025 festival.

Opportunities include:

• Programme Support – Work with our artists to develop and support a groundbreaking lineup
• Marketing and Promotion – Spread the word about Hidden Door 2025
• Volunteer Coordination – Help manage the incredible people who make Hidden Door happen
• Event Production – Help transform our largest space yet into an unforgettable venue
• Fundraising and Sponsorship – Secure support for this monumental effort
• Venue Logistics – Get stuck in to the challenges that make a festival like ours happen

This commitment is ongoing and requires regular engagement with the team, so it’s perfect for those eager to play a vital role in bringing the festival to life.
