Our Policies
We want Hidden Door to be a positive and safe experience for everyone involved. We have various policies and procedures to help us take care of our team, contributors, volunteers and audiences.

A commitment to our team
We are committed to:
- Providing a warm welcome to new team members, introducing them to how the organisation works and their role in it as well as providing them with a full explanation of their duties/responsibilities
- Respecting team member’s skills, boundaries, dignity and individual wishes and doing our best to meet them
- Respecting team member’s autonomy and allowing them to carry out their role with the appropriate level of guidance and support
- Endeavouring to fairly resolve any problems, grievances or difficulties they may have
Our expectations of our team
The team is committed to following Hidden Door’s organisational policies and procedures whilst undertaking their duties and responsibilities.
This means fostering a friendly and inclusive working environment, behaving in a professional and respectful manner at all times, supporting the objectives and spirit of Hidden Door and working to the same high standards with all people, regardless of their age, gender, sexuality, race, disability or religion. This includes respecting the boundaries of others and respecting their privacy and personal choice of lifestyles, customs, values and spiritual beliefs.
Dealing with grievances
Where a team member’s behaviour is considered to be inappropriate and/or harmful to the festival, fellow team members, contributors, members of the public or Hidden Door’s partners, involvement with the organisation may be ended. Examples of behaviours which will not be tolerated include:
- A breach of confidentiality
- Acts that bring Hidden Door into disrepute
- Physical and/or verbal abuse
- Sexual harassment, including but not limited to inappropriate or unwelcome conduct

Environmental Strategy and Statement
We are committed to playing our part in working towards the Scottish Government’s goal of being carbon neutral by 2045. Sexual Harassment Policy
Hidden Door is committed to being a safe space for everyone. We will not tolerate any form of sexual harassment, including but not limited to inappropriate or unwelcome conduct, non-consensual touching or verbal harassment.
If any member of the team, participant or member of the public behaves in a way that breaks our policy, we have a clear procedure that we will follow.
