In August 2025, Hidden Door teamed up with our friends at Bellfield Brewery for two Taproom Sessions of music and spoken word.
Local legends Bellfield Brewery launched their own mini festival offering a bold, alternative programme. The ‘Taproom Sessions’ took place slightly outside the main, city-centre festival hub throughout August at its working brewery in Abbeyhill, offering a relaxed and welcoming platform for film, music, and spoken word.
Running from 3rd-24th August, we were proud to curate two of the nights:
Sunday 17th August saw music from Esther Swift, Blair Coron and Gaze is Ghost, and spoken word from Iona Lee and Katie Ailes. Sunday 24th August welcomed music from Mike McKenzie, Doom Scroller and Thundermoon, with spoken word from Josh Cake and RJ Hunter.
The events were designed to support local independent artists, with 100% of ticket profits going directly to the performers and Hidden Door.
Our year-round activity is kindly supported by Creative Scotland Development Funding and the City of Edinburgh Council’s Local Events Open Fund.
