We’re transforming Basement 3 at St James Quarter this Friday and Saturday for two nights of music, art and performances.
As with every Hidden Door event, there will also be an opportunity for the public to explore for free. Between 1-6pm on Saturday 11 May, you’ll be able to:
Our Birthday Party is a celebration of 10 years of showcasing incredible work by creatives across Scotland and beyond, and our event will feature work by 18 artists and collectives that have featured at previous Hidden Door Festivals. Their work will recall those past exhibitions whilst also reflecting how each artist has evolved in the years since.
Alice B Simpson is an artist who likes drawing myths, gods, beasts, faces and disrespecting classical art. She used to be bad at drawing faces but now she’s discovered coloured pencils and a little bit of chaos and she’s ready to rise to the challenge. For £15, Alice will draw your portrait live in front of your pals for you to take home.
Karina and Aimée are offering a dynamic and interactive printing experience. Visit their printing station and unleash your creativity with 1 on 1 taster of screen printing with a variety of designs to choose from. BYOTextiles: we’re supporting slow fashion by encouraging participants to bring items they already own for some gorgeous upcycling. Small fee applies.
Come and hang out at our pop-up bar, built from reclaimed materials in partnership with Edinburgh Tool Library and decorated by Glasgow-based artists Lewi Quinn. We’re again working with our drinks partner Bellfield Brewery who will be offering a delightful range of craft beers, as well as our spirits partner Jack Daniels providing something a little stronger. Sort drinks will of course be available too.
We’ve also partnered with Ozen Street Food on Little Kings Street who are offering ticket holders a 10% discount off their delicious Bao Buns.
