Fiona Beveridge

I am a visual artist living and working in Edinburgh. I studied Sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art and graduated in 2014. Since then, I have continued to make work in Edinburgh, but also London, Blackpool and Mexico.

My work explores contemporary methods of mark-making and surface texture through object drawing, textiles, experimental painting and sculptural techniques and illustration. I work closely with found material, which is then removed of its original context to create mixed media structural landscapes that are vitalised by colour and metamorphosis.

I like to study aspects of the everyday, such as the appearances of both processed and natural food, consumerized matter such as shop-bought figurines and decorations, as well as our relationships to plant-life. I am also heavily influenced by local mythologies and folklore.
