Hidden Door

Covid-19 and staying safe at Hidden Door

We realise that the pandemic has had a massive impact on events and gatherings, and we want everyone to feel comfortable and safe when they visit our festival.

We’ve put together a bit of information about what we’re doing. You can also subscribe to our mailing list for all the latest info.

How will Covid rules impact Hidden Door Festival?

We are following Scottish Government and local authority rules and guidance carefully to ensure the festival is fully safe and compliant.

Scotland moved beyond Level 0 of Covid restrictions on 9 August. This now allows for outdoor events of up to 5000 people – we are currently working to a capacity of 750 per night, so we are well within the safe limits.

What safety measures will be in place?

You can expect all the same measures as you may have seen at other venues and events – hand sanitiser, one-way systems, social distancing indoors and clear signage to let you know what to do.

We will also ask visitors to register via the Check In Scotland system. This only takes a minute on arrival.

Will I have to take a test before I attend?

We recommend that you take a Lateral Flow Test before entry. These are available for free from the NHS.

Will I need to wear a face covering whilst at the event?

As the main event is outdoors, face coverings will not be mandatory whilst you’re on site. The only exception may be whilst you are visiting the bar or food stalls, for the protection of staff and other festival-goers. We obviously recognise and respect that exemptions apply.

We are also planning to transform a nearby warehouse into an exhibition space. This is a vast and high structure with excellent ventilation, but we ask that visitors wear a face covering whilst moving around that space.

For your protection, we will expect our staff and volunteers to wear face coverings where possible and appropriate.

What if I can’t attend due to Coronavirus?

You will be able to get a refund or transfer your ticket to a future event if you can’t attend because you have to self-isolate.

What if the event is cancelled?

Following the Scottish Government announcement on 3 August that Scotland is moving out of the restriction levels, we are confident that Hidden Door can take place as planned.

In the very unlikely event that we need to cancel the event, you will of course be able to get a refund or transfer your ticket to a future event.

We know that lots of events have been cancelled in recent weeks, but we are doing everything we can to keep Hidden Door on track and have no reason to believe that the size and format of our event won’t be able to go ahead in September.
